Rangefinders are now great for all needed in distance estimation and target focus, and the only requirement to focus on the lens and press the button; it will show you the exact distance from the flag. In this review, let has looked at what Nikon Coolshot 20 has for us.
The Nikon Coolshot 20 Golf Laser Rangefinder Review
As we said before, Nikon is a respectable company when it comes to the production of quality lenses and camera products. With that being said, Nikon cool shot 20 has not been left behind but included in that.
The Nikon Coolshot 20 is a perfect piece of rangefinders that have never been intimidated by any obstacle even atmospheric while in play.
This rangefinder is an extremely compact, comfortable, and waterproof rangefinder for perfect golfing experience in any weather.
This portable unit allows you to learn your golf timing techniques at ease and polish your skill with the help of the target priority mode along with an eight-second continuous scan mode and accurate measurement for up to 550 yards.
The Coolshot 20 is a Nikon’s cheapest range finder for under $200; while delivering unquestionable performance. Most users reviewed this Nikon’s option giving it a high rating which is really worth Coolshot 20. No feature can be said to underrate this range finder. Every user with its experience will always give thumbs up for it, and I personally offered my 100% approval.
The first thing that caught my attention is how small the Nikon Coolshot range finder is. This is really a very impressive and nice-looking range finder I ever came across. Gone are those days we were used to big and junky models out there.
Nikon Coolshot 20 is a smaller model in the history of Coolshot rangefinder models. You will just grip the rangefinder with one hand comfortably while enjoying its ease of use. It only measures 9cm by 7 cm, making it the smallest laser rangefinders ever in the market.
Its size makes it perfect to be carried with a golf bag, or if you have no much safe storage available, you can just carry it in your pocket, and you will not feel like you carry anything.
Ease Of Use
You don’t need to be tech-savvy to use a Nikon Coolshot 20. The rangefinder is one of the simple options that are very easy for us. You only need to just focus on its lenses, locate your target, and press the rear button to turn on the device and calculation of distance begin. You can use it to focus for eight seconds then it automatically turns off to save the battery.
With the zooming effect, Nikon Coolshot 20 is always a legend. The rangefinder magnifies up to 6x, while you can find its competing rangefinders going up to 4 or 5x. So, you won’t go wrong with this option when it comes to zooming effects. This is an improved option that steps up than its previous options.
With this model, you can have some additional buttons used for different options such as shuffling you units from yards to meters. Most people are using meters to calculate the distance, especially those from Europe.
The Coolshot 20 comes with a very long-lasting battery. The CR-2 battery will assure you a perfect lifespan. The rangefinder has a battery saver that can limit the use of power hence improving its battery life span.
You are assured of a very impressive range with Nikon laser 20. The range starts from 6 yards and goes up to 600 yards. We can’t say it is better than other rangefinders, but with this far, you can really feel satisfied with it. Range performance mostly depends on weather conditions. Windy conditions are quite tricky with most of these rangefinders. With Nikon laser 20, you can hardly locate a flag over 300 yards in poor weather conditions.
Nikon Coolshot 20 is well made to resist rainy conditions it comes with its waterproof cover while it is made of a strong and protective material that prevents it from damage in case it falls to the ground.
The only downside with this range finder is that the slope mode is not included, unlike other modern range finders out there. It might be due to the reason that this range finder was created mostly to support golfing. The use of slope mode during tournaments is illegal, but most people like using it on their own time. Also, this model does not provide wind factor to aid in club selection, but I hope it is coming with other new upcoming models.
Nikon Coolshot 20 is very comfortable and focuses very easily. You can just focus with ease using its eyepiece without any worry that it may hurt your eye like with some other models out there.
In addition to that, this rangefinder is affordable as compared to others that are used for more advanced tasks. For golf, you can’t go wrong with this model, since it is designed to provide accuracy and versatility when in use during golf gaming.
